How to read the map

The Competence Map is structured on three levels:

Categories

Top level, groupings of skillsets

Skillsets

Set of competences typically required to perform the role

Competences

Individual competences representing specific expertise

Each competence is structured into three levels, allowing individuals to assess their expertise:

Bronze

Represents basic and entry-level competences

Silver

Indicates an independent professional or senior-level expertise

Gold

Recognises guru-level mastery

Each Skillset includes

  • A brief description of the role

  • Possible alternative titles used in the industry

  • The comptences required for the role at different levels

A competence is part of one or multiple skillsets, so you may find each competence in different places. The connection of competence to a skillset is indicated with a mandatory or optional statement.

Mandatory competences are essential to perform said role, while optional competences can be useful, but not as critical. In addition, Industry-wide includes cross-cutting competences, such as soft skills.

This structure makes it easy to navigate career paths, identify skill gaps, and plan professional development. What do you want to learn next?
